BEVARD Elaine Bevard, February 24, 2000, Carmel Friends, Indiana.

BARNES Donald H. Barnes, 71, Anderson First Friends, Indiana, July 21, 2000. Donald Barnes served the church for many years as an enthusiastic trustee, doing a wide variety of maintenance work and caring for the lawn. He was an employee of General Motors for 31 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Solar Masonic Lodge 734 F&AM, of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis Solar Order of the Eastern Star 604, and also belonged to the Delco Remy Campers, the Good Sams Club and the United Auto Workers Local 662. Survivors include his wife Elisabeth (Hook) Barnes, his son Harry Barnes, his daughters Diana Woolman and Teresa Schaefer, eight brothers and sisters, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

CHRISTY Pauline Christy, February 12, 2000, Carmel Friends, Indiana.

ESTES Virginia Randall Estes, 84, Gray Friends, Noblesville, Indiana, August 16, 2000. Born in Hamilton County to Orvie and Lucy Randall on February 24, 1916, Virginia Randall was a graduate of Westfield High School. She married Cecil R. Estes on September 2, 1957. She was the Statistical Secretary of the meeting, and was active in USFW, especially in the making of quilts. Employed as a business manager by TV station WTHR, Channel 13 in Indianapolis, she retired in 1985. Survivors include one sister, Floreine Evans, three nieces Anna Rose Randall, Letitia Dain, and Barbara Schrock, and one nephew Kenneth Evans. Her husband Cecil and her brother Walter Randall preceded her in death.

HAWORTH Esta Bedford Haworth, 95, High Point Friends, North Carolina, October 2, 2000. Esta was born March 7, 1905, in Houghton, N.Y., a daughter of Henry Clark and Nell Crow Bedford. She received her undergraduate degree at Earlham College, Richmond, Indiana. She was a partner with her husband, Rev. Cecil E. Haworth, in their 60 years of ministry, serving High Point Friends Meeting 34 years and Jamestown Friends Meeting 15 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, the Rev. Cecil E. Haworth on July 27, 2000; also a sister, Mrs. Clare Trueblood and a brother, Henry Ward Bedford. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Kemp and Mrs. Marjorie Blair; a son, Howard H. Haworth and his wife, Patricia; a sister, Bernice Bedford Conley; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to High Point Friends Meeting, P.O. PHIPPS Virginia Phipps, May 23, 2000, Carmel Friends, Indiana.

ROSS Shirley Ann Ross, 66, Wabash Friends, Indiana, September 7, 2000. She was born July 17, 1934 in Wabash to Don and Mary Louise (Knox) Ridenour. She married Doyle Ross at Wabash Friends Church, November 30,1950. Shirley was a 1952 graduate of Linlawn High School, a 50-year member of Wabash Friends Church and treasurer of USFW. She retired from First Federal Savings and Loan, Wabash, after 22 years of service. She was a member of the Cozy Homemakers Home Ec. Club. Survivors include her husband, Doyle; one son, Steven (Jeannie); two daughters, Susan (Jeff) Lewis, and DeAnn (Don) Osborne; her mother, Mary Louise Ridenour; one sister, Kay Ridenour; and nine grandchildren. One son, David, preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to USFW.

STOUFFER Ferne Arlene Stouffer, 77, Wabash Friends, Indiana, September 20, 2000. She was born August 5, 1923, in Benton County, to Ora and Etta (Dexter) Baxter. She married Paul Stouffer on September 9, 1944, in Wabash. She retired from U.S. Gypsum Company after 22 years. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Hardwick and Carol Jo Miller; one brother, Homer Baxter; two sisters, Doris Stettler and Maxine McCafferty; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers preceded her in death. Memorials may be sent to the Wabash Friends Church, Wabash, Indiana.
