Valiant for Truth
By Trish Edwards-Konic
"Christ is risen!"
"Christ is risen indeed!"
This Easter greeting, used by early Christians, conveyed the power of
the resurrection message. Through the ages, "Christ is risen"
remains at the heart of our faith. These three words launched Jesus' grieving
friends into a new world of joy and courage.
Do your circumstances seem hopeless?
Does your cause seem lost?
The power of the resurrection proves there are no lost causes or hopeless
cases for those who believe in Christ Jesus. The impossible happened.
Jesus, who was dead, arose from the grave to live within the hearts of
his believers.
When we become believers and decide to follow Jesus, the words, "Christ
is risen" take on new meaning. We receive a new existence, a new
source of strength and a new set of expectations.
Death no longer is the end but only a passage into eternal life and joy,
with no more tears and no more pain. The difficulties of this world can
no longer attempt to crush us; we are freed to perfect love and peace.
We celebrate Easter Sunday as a time to remember the saving work of Jesus
and the Risen Christ. It is a time to draw strength for the struggles
of this earth so we may be eternally at home in heaven.
From darkest fear to brightest hope
From deep sorrow to perfect peace
From sin and pain to redemption and joy
The resurrection changes everything!
