Deaths:
DAVIS Margaret Farlow Davis, 88, May 29, 2002, Marlboro Friends, North Carolina. Margaret Davis was born August 29, 1913. She married Merle L. Davis. A Recorded Friends Minister, she pastored Poplar Ridge, Woodland and Centre Friends Meetings as well as serving FUM as a missionary in Jamaica for seven years. While living in Richmond, Indiana, she worked as a social services specialist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one stepson, Ray Davis; one stepdaughter, Ruthanna Hadley; one sister, Martha Hodgin; one brother, Joe Farlow; five step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. DECAMP Don DeCamp, 70, February 23, 2002, Winchester Friends, Indiana. Don DeCamp was born on December 9, 1931, to Marshall and Marguerite Manes DeCamp. He graduated from Westside High School in Union City, Ohio and studied art. While serving in the Army, he was stationed in Germany. He was active in his local community, performing with the Little Theatre, serving on the Civil War Roundtable and contributing in many ways with his skill as artist and woodcarver. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Melba Shandy DeCamp; one stepson, Jerry Martzell; one brother; one niece; one nephew; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
GAYLOR Donnabelle Gaylor, 80, December 6, 2001, Winchester Friends, Indiana. Donnabelle Gaylor was born February 11, 1921, to Harold and Gertrude Snyder. She was a retired employee of the Second National Bank of Richmond, Indiana. An active member of Winchester Friends, she sang in the choir and was a member of USFW. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge Ladies' Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norval Gaylor. Survivors include one daughter, Jacquelyn Sue Anderson; one brother, Robert Snyder; two nephews; two nieces; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
HARRISON Edna E. Harrison, 65, April 11, 2002, First Friends, Anderson, Indiana. Edna Harrison was born January 12, 1937 to Charles and Ruth Blunt. She had been a member of New Castle Friends and joined First Friends upon moving to Anderson. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy R. Harrison. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Thomas R. Harrison; one son, Michael A. Harrison; two granddaughters, Estelle Ambwehl and Jordan Harrison; two sisters and a brother.
HEATON Ruth E. Horn Heaton, 83, August 11, 2001, West Middleton Friends, Indiana. Ruth Heaton was a 1941 graduate of Earlham College. She taught high school English for 40 years and was active in many professional organizations. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include her husband, Clifford Heaton; two stepsons, Dennis and Edwin; one stepdaughter, Cindy Fortune; one sister, Helen Dailey; four nieces, Barbara Darnell, Beverly Zell, Janet Smith and Jackie Keith; seven-step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
LEIBMAN Kenneth Leibman, 78, September 2, 2001, Gainesville Friends, Florida. Kenneth Leibman was born August 7, 1923, and joined Gainesville Friends in 1959. He served as treasurer and newsletter editor of the meeting and also served as clerk of both his own meeting and of Southeastern Yearly Meeting.
MARLING Jesse Marling, 91, March 6, 2002, First Friends, Whittier, California. Jesse Marling was born in 1910 in New Providence, Iowa. He was a graduate of Whittier College. He married Helen Stolp in 1934. Helen died in 1989, and he married Esther Gilbert in 1991. Active in his meeting, he also volunteered for the Whittier Ecumenical Food Center for many years. Survivors include his wife Esther Gilbert Marling; one daughter, Janice Larson; two grandchildren, Krista Karr and Kevin Larson; and three great-grandchildren.
MILLS Pauline Mills, 82, November, 2001, Winchester Friends, Indiana. Pauline Mills was born March 7, 1920, to Albert and Myrtle Fraizer Williamson. A 1939 graduate of Wayne High School, she was a member of Winchester Friends for fifty years. She was also a member of the Winchester Order of the Eastern Star, No. 60. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Walter Mills; two daughters, Susan Adair and Carolyn Mills; one son, Kenneth Mills; three sisters, two grandsons and a granddaughter.
PERKINS Barbara Wildman Perkins, 63, April 21, 2002, Heartland Friends, Wichita, Kansas. Barbara Perkins was born July 23, 1938, in Springfield, Ohio, to W. Wendell and Marguerite Greenawalt Wildman. A graduate of Westtown School, Pennsylvania, and Earlham College, Indiana, she married James R. Perkins in June, 1960 and settled with him in Howard, Kansas. In 1981, upon the death of her brother, she became manager for Mac-O-Chee Farm in Ohio. In 1993, she moved back to Kansas and re-established Mac-O-Chee Farm in a new location, thus continuing a family farming tradition almost 200 years old. She was active in University Friends Meeting and later in Heartland Friends Meeting. She was involved in Young Friends of North America and also served on the Board of Advisors of the Earlham School of Religion, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her brother, William W. Wildman. Survivors include her husband, James Perkins; one daughter, Elizabeth Hendricks; two sons, David and Mark; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
WHITE Ruth Levering White, February 24, 2002, New Garden Friends, Greensboro, North Carolina.
