ALTHOUSE Minerva Althouse, July 12, 2002, Jonesboro Friends Church, Indiana. Minerva Althouse was active in her Jonesboro Friends, especially in the USFW sewing program where she made quits and lap robes. Survivors include one daughter, Norma Phillips; one son, Walter; two grandsons, Kevin and Gene jacks and several great-grandchildren.
CLARK Mary E. Clark, 85, June 14, 2002, Knightstown Friends, Indiana. Mary Clark was born November 25, 1916 to Joe and Gladys Schmidt Stapp. She was employed by the Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's Home and the Knightstown Public Library before retirement. She was a member of Knightstown Friends Church. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Wayne; one son, Frank; three daughters, Waynette Dunn, Diane Noble and Pam Noble; three brothers, Alvin, Tom and Charles Stapp; one sister, Justine Southwood; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
DALE Jean Elizabeth Dale, 75, September 24, 2002, Wabash Friends Church, Indiana. Jean Elizabeth was born on Oct. 2, 1926, in Wabash County, to Floyd T.J. and Celia (Tate) Whistler. She married Roger D. Dale on July 28, 1946. She was a member of the Wabash Friends Church and had been active and held several offices in the United Society of Friends Women. She had served as the clerk of the Wabash Friends Monthly Meeting and was active in many other church committees. She was the vice president/secretary and bookkeeper for Dale Farms, Inc. She was a member of the Jolly Janes Home Economics Club and volunteered in the Wabash and North Manchester LIFE centers and at Wabash County Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Roger; three sons, Thomas Dale, James Dale and David Dale; one daughter, Nancy Nicum; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to the Wabash Friends Church Building Fund.

DAVIS Isa J. Davis, 100, October 13, 2002, Jonesboro Friends Church, Indiana. Isa Davis was very involved in the WomenÕs Bible Study Group and active at in her church. Survivors include one daughter, Lois Sutherland and two daughters-in-law, Eula Davis and Mary Davis.
FARR Margaret J. Farr, May 24, 2002, Jonesboro Friends Church, Indiana. Margaret Farr shared her musical talents with Jonesboro Friends Church, especially playing the piano and clarinet.
GRIFFIN Gaynell Griffin, 87, October 10, 2002, New Castle Friends, Indiana.ÊGaynell was born August 31, 1915 in New Castle, to Russell and Marie Smith Thomas. She was member of New CastleÊFirst Friends Meeting.Ê She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth. Survivors include one daughter, Jacqueline Kinsinger; one son, James Griffin; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one sister.
HAMILTON Marie Hamilton, 101, September 5, 2002, West Richmond Friends Meeting, Indiana. Marie Hamilton was born in N. Manchester, Indiana on February 4, 1901 to L.D. and Elizabeth Ikenberry. She graduated from Manchester College in 1923 and taught school for a few years before working for the Ft. Wayne YWCA. In 1927 she married Stanley Hamilton. During the Depression, the Hamiltons did relief work with unemployed miners and steelworkers and their families in eastern Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, under the auspices of the American Friends Service Committee. During World War II, they directed a hostel for European refugees at Quaker Hill in Richmond, IN. Marie was executive secretary of the Richmond YWCA for many years. After retirement, she and Stanley moved to Florida, where they did volunteer work with migrant farm workers. She gave thousands of hours of her time to the Palms Auxiliary at their retirement home in Sebring, where she managed their gift shop until age 99. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Stanley Hamilton and one daughter, Mary Ellen Johnson. Survivors include one son, Tom and one daughter, Nancy Tyndall; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
HULCE Verna Hulce, May 15, 2002, Jonesboro Friends Church, Indiana. Verna Hulce was a registered nurse for many years. A member of Jonesboro Friends Church, she entered wholeheartedly into many projects. Survivors include one sister, Rosella York.
JAY Arie Lee Jay, 100, September 30, 2002, Jonesboro Friends Church, Indiana. Survivors include her daughter Phyllis.
LANDIS Philip E. Landis, 81, August 27, 2002, Wabash Friends Meeting, Indiana. Philip Landis was born on March 20, 1921, in Wabash, to Victor and Marie Elizabeth (Fahl) Landis. He married Marcella Emrick on January 1,1942. A lifelong Wabash resident, he was a retired carpenter and contractor, and a member of Wabash Friends Church. Survivors include his wife, Marie; two sons, Larry and Lynn; two sisters, Pauline Gurtner, and Ruth Dale; four grandchildren, Amy Lunn, Kerri Landis, Jeremy Landis and Philip Landis; and two great-grandchildren.
PEARSON Robert Pearson, July 24, 2002, Jonesboro Friends Church, Indiana. Robert Pearson was active in Jonesboro Friends Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two sons, Ken and John; one daughter Nancy Slater; one brother Bill and several grandchildren.

WYATT Norene Wyatt, 64, September 19, 2002, Knightstown Friends, Indiana. Norene Wyatt was born September 24, 1937 to Arthur and Mary Godsey Rogers. She married Forrest Wyatt and was a homemaker and member of Knightstown Friends Church. Survivors include her husband, Forrest; one daughter Leah Kopp; on son, Gary; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers Doug and Ed Rogers; and two sisters, Elizabeth Durham and Ella Riggs.
