Friends United Meeting has learned that the director of Swift-Purscell Boys Home has been arrested and charged with 30 counts of indecent assault on the boys. Until the case is resolved, the director has been suspended. In his place, the pastor of Cascade Friends Meeting, a trained counselor, has taken charge. Both the Swift-Purscell Boys Home and the Lyndale Girls Home are managed by the Friends Education Council. While allegations and other rumors are being investigated, we will keep you updated as additional information becomes available. Please keep Friends Education Council, Jamaica Yearly Meeting and especially the students in our thoughts and prayers for healing and for a quick resolution of this issue.
