Peace Connections Page

Friends United Meeting supports efforts in peacemaking and nonviolence. Our faith in Christ compels us to work for peace and justice. The Richmond Declaration of Faith contains some of the Biblical basis for these beliefs. A pamphlet titled, "A Guide for Friends on Conscientious Objection to War," by Ben Richmond, is included on this website.

Christian Peacemaker Teams information Violence reduction and accompaniment work in Iraq, Palestine, Columbia, First Nation groups in Canada, and elsewhere.

The current military situation in the Middle East is a grave cause for concern. The Friends Committee on National Legislation has helpful material for letter-writing calling for peace and an end to the current reoccupation of Palestinian areas of the West Bank. Please pray for Israeli and Palestinian groups that are working for peace, justice and an end to the occupation, as well as for the well-being of all affected.

Christian Peacemaker Teams is an initiative of Mennonite and Church of the Brethren congregations and Friends Meetings that supports violence reduction efforts around the world.
