American Ministries:
2010 Emerging Leaders Conference
On
September 17-19, 2010, Friends United Meeting will be sponsoring a conference
for emerging leaders in Richmond, Indiana. The conference is by invitation,
so we need you to recommend to us your emerging leaders. You may remember
that emerging leaders' conferences were held several years ago under the
leadership of Ben Richmond. While this conference won't be quite the same,
we do want the conference to be a time of encouragement, networking, and
practical skill-building for Friends who are exploring their call to ministry
in one form or another.
There will be workshops in areas such as:
- Leadership Responsibility and Authority
- Responding to Diversity
- Understanding your Strengths
- Characteristics of an Effective Leader
We are looking for Friends who:
- Are committed Christians
- Are just emerging as leaders and are not well known beyond their local
meetings
- Are exploring a call to some form of leadership among Friends, whether
full-time or while they also follow secular employment
We need your help. You are most in tune with the emerging
leaders in your meetings and yearly meetings. Do you know of someone (at
least 18 years of age) who might benefit from a conference like this?
If so, please send us their names and contact information, via
e-mail. Emerging Leaders can register online now. Extended deadline is August 23, 2010.
