2008 Young Adult Friends Conference
Living as Friends, Listening Within "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your minds, Friends United Meeting is working together with Friends General Conference and Philadelphia Yearly Meeting to host a gathering for Young Adult Friends from differing traditions (programmed and unprogrammed) for laughter, prayer, fun and worship. This Memorial Day weekend Friends ages 18–35 are invited to Earlham College, Richmond, Indiana, to learn from one another about the leadings, or nudges, we feel compelled to follow. Workshops and interest groups will help Friends learn to recognize God’s voice, discuss the challenges of following God’s call and deepen our understanding of who God is and what God is asking us to do, individually and as a body of Friends. Planning the event has been exciting, yet challenging, as we learn to speak each other’s language and anticipate the diversity that Friends bring. We pray that this event will be a precursor for future gatherings that unite FUM, FGC and EFI. Encourage young adult friends from your monthly and yearly meetings to attend!
